With the rapid development of national economy, a good situation prevails in China's vocational education at present. Secondary vocational education encounters difficult tasks of training workers with high quality and great skill for the forefront of production, operation, management and service. At the age of knowledge-based economy, how to transfer the advanced science and technology into talented people with medium and high level skill and practical ability is the pressing demand of times.As an important basic curriculum in secondary vocational and technical schools, Chinese teaching plays an important role in the whole system of school curriculum. However, the status quo of Chinese teaching in secondary vocational and technical schools is not optimistic. Most of students show little interest in Chinese study and their ability of Chinese is poor, so the Chinese teaching in secondary vocational and technical schools is trapped. The reasons can be summarized as following aspects: the weakening of the function of syllabus, the scarcity of students'Chinese accomplishment, unclear positioning of discipline construction, obsolete course teaching, etc. The cause of the problems mentioned above is mainly due to the utility tendency of guiding ideology of secondary vocational education, the negative influence of exam-oriented education system, and"dystrophy"in"mutual main bodies"of teaching. In terms of the causes of problems and according to the characteristics of students and the discipline and vocation, the paper put forwards strategies from following aspects, Chinese teaching materials, teaching target, teaching content, teaching methods and evaluation system.
