Rural English teaching is a major concern of the academic community,and the level of English Teaching of the vast majority of English teachers is directly related to the overall quality of English Teaching in the country. Based on the actual work and research materials, this paper discusses the current situation and Countermeasures of continuing education for English teachers in rural areas.At first, it discusses the present situation of rural English teaching and English teachers. This paper mainly analyzes various problems existing in rural English teaching,and analyzes the necessity of strengthening continuing education for rural English teachers.Secondly, aiming at the existing problems of English Teaching in rural areas, the continuing education of rural English teachers, put forward a series of the following countermeasures: 1, make full use of Internet resources, narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas; 2, the use of spare time, continuous self charging; 3, the use of holidays, to participate in short-term training; 4, improve education, so as to improve the ability; 5, countries should promote accurate education poverty alleviation; 6. Make full use of social resources, improve the level of English teachers in rural areas.
