Teacher is a basic element in education. Having good teachers, we will have a good way to make excellent education. Teachers’ training is an important part to strengthen the building of education. It is critical to promote quality education and equity education. With the further development of basic education, people come to realize that it is important to improve and develop the status in continuing education of the in-service teachers in rural primary schools. It is an effective means to improve teacher quality and promote quality education as an important guarantee for primary school English teachers. Wuhai is located in the western remote areas. Because of lagging behind in economic and educational development, teacher education level and specialization degree lag far away behind the developed areas, especially in rural area and mining places. English teachers continuing education in these areas have certain problems in training mode, content, methods and system, etc. The research is based on the status of the rural areas in Wuhai. Through the empirical study of English teacher training in rural areas, the author analyzed and summarized the achievement and adverse factors which influence English teachers training in rural areas, putting forward to reasonable proposals:a. Adjusting curriculum and teaching method; b. Providing various training modes; c. Strengthen school-based teacher training policy; d. Increasing investment and guaranteeing training work. So as to enhance the training effectiveness in the rural and remote areas and achieve the aim to promote rural English education validly.The study consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduces the background, the significance and the aim of the research. The second chapter put forward to literature review and theoretical basis of the paper. The third chapter is the research procedures and the survey of the current situation of English teachers in Wuhai. In chapter four the author gives the results of the survey. The last chapter is conclusion and suggestions.
