The reform of Chinese curriculum for senior high schools has been promoted nationwide since the autumn of 2007. There is more than one version of Chinese textbooks newly used in China. Judging from the opinions of all sides, the two versions of Chinese textbooks for senior high schools published by People's Education Press and Jiangsu Education Publishing House respectively are most outstanding ones.Based upon the situations of studies on Chinese textbooks and according to Standards of Chinese Curriculum for Senior High Schools, this thesis is devoted to the comparison, analysis and review of the two versions of textbooks.The study is focuses on structures, text system, learning-assisting system, and homework system of the reading sections of the two versions .Study on texts is focused on themes, time (ancient and modern texts)and space( Chinese and foreign texts) spans, genres and value orientations of the texts. Study on learning-assisting system is focused on unit explanations (explanations on specific matters) and pictures. Study on homework system is focused on the types, quantity, content and language. Comparison of the two versions according to the requirements on textbook designing and editing from Standards of Chinese Curriculum for Senior High Schools is inserted in this part.Finally, it is concluded that both of the versions have their own characteristics and fully reflects the spirit of the reform and meet the requirements of Standards of Chinese Curriculum for Senior High Schools. It is impossible to tell which one is definitely better than the other.
