University graduates are valuable human resources in China. The problems of their employment are not only about their self-value and the profit of people, but also about the stability of society and building a well-off society in an all-round way. Today, the university graduates problem has become a central issue focus.With the increasing number of university graduates, the problem of university graduates employment has been becoming more and more evidently. Applying the administration science, social science and psychology, the paper deeply and generally analyzed the problem of university graduates from social environment, school education, family education and personal education. Drawing lessons from American university vocational guidance, the paper has given the suggestions for Chinese university.The paper included four parts:Part one: The background and significance of the researchThis part mainly introduced the research purpose and significance, and the situation of college student employment, the task faced with employment guidance work. In this part, the paper also presented the main theories of American employment. Part two: The characteristic of American university vocational guidance.In this part, the paper introduced the theory basement of American employment guidance (AEG), the situation of AEG and AEG system including the function of government, college, intermediary and company.Part three: The situations and problems faced with Chinese senior high school students. In this part, the paper introduced the history of Chinese college student system (CCSS), presented the characteristic of CCSS and main exiting problem including the mechanism, channel and structure of college student employment.Part four: Based on the situation, the paper presented some suggestions for Chinese university by drawing lessons form American university vocational guidance. In this part, the paper proposed some suggestions for government, college, students and intermediary.Government: To strengthen macro adjustment and control.Universities and colleges: Strengthen the employment guidance work and promote quality-education.Universities and colleges students: Enhance the ability of study and alert idea of employment.
