When we are writing some compositions, we need to commence from the life, going deep into life intentionally, observing and feeling life. Otherwise, we will feel it hard to begin writing compositions. However, in practical teaching, quite a few teachers and students can not free themselves from the mode of traditional composition teaching. Depending on the teaching materials, the teachers confine their teaching within classes, while the students pursue writing techniques through mechanical training. They may attain satisfactory marks through the fixed form but cover up the fact that their compositions are lacking in true feelings and features.Observing the various problems existing in current composition teaching, the author of this thesis starts from the background of the reform of basic education and the Chinese teaching reform from the angle of the exploration and utilization of course resources. Based on her practical experience of many years, she has done some related theoretical study of composition writing, and focused on the current dynamic state of composition teaching reform for senior students. The purpose is to improve the theoretical and practical research of course resources. Firstly, the thesis makes some analyses of the problems in the composition teaching and finds out the reasons that lead to the inefficiency of the composition teaching—neglecting the exploration and utilization of course resources as well as lacking the stimulation and encouragement of the students'interest in writing compositions. Secondly, it defines the concept of course resources from the macroscopic perspective of educational theories. Course resources refer to all kinds of factors which are favorable to utilize the course goals and can be divided into two types: resources for source materials and conditional resources. The characteristics of the former are that they can be applied in the course and used as the source materials and resources such as knowledge, skills, experience, attitude, educational goals and so on. The features of the latter lie in that they can be applied in the course but they are not the direct recourses of forming the course itself, which determine the practical scale and level of the course to a great extent. Thirdly, it combines the composition teaching with the exploration and utilization of course resources, analyzes the development of composition teaching home and abroad, drawing lessons from their advantages and introspecting their disadvantages. Finally, the author inquires the strategies of exploiting and utilizing the course resources in composition teaching from her composition teaching. The strategies are to change the teaching ideas of the teachers', to foster the students'interest in writing compositions, to exploit and make use of the course resources for composition in society, family, lessons, together with the dynamic ones in and out of classes. It is hoped that this research can find out the adaptable strategies of exploiting and utilizing the course resources. Thus it can efficiently guide the practical exploration and utilization of course resources in composition teaching.
