Apprenticeship refers to a system of learning a craft or trade from one who is engaged in it and of paying for the instruction by a given number of years of work. During the past ages, the apprenticeship system experienced origination and decline of traditional apprenticeship system and the remaking of modern apprenticeship. With rapid technological change, economic globalization, reconstruction of industrial structure and occupational structure, the apprenticeship system will be abundant in meaning and connotation. Modern apprenticeship system was remade and became pioneer example in Britain.The essence of both modern apprenticeship and vocational education in school is"curriculum". With a historically development view, this article made clear the relationship between apprenticeship system and vocational education, investigated framework and characteristics of curriculum in modern apprenticeship system and conclude the inspiration of apprenticeship's achievements and flaws. This research laid the foundation for consideration of our country's curriculum reform in vocational education. The article was divided into three parts:In the first part, taking curriculum as a clue, the article combed the British apprenticeship system'evolution process from the traditional apprenticeship system rise to decline until the rise of school vocational education, to the modern apprenticeship system combined by the vocational education in school and the natural shape of apprenticeship system with a historically development view. In addition, the article made clear the relationship between apprenticeship system and vocational education in school, and explained the modern apprenticeship systems arising from the integration of traditional apprenticeship and vocational education in school based on occupational structure.In the second part, the composition of British modern apprenticeship system was investigated. The article analyzed the meaning and current problems from the perspective of training goal, curriculum content, training model and curriculum evaluation.In the third part, based on data collected in the research of"research and practice on employment-based vocational education curriculum and books reform", this article throughly investigated the current situations of vocational education curriculum on training goal, curriculum content, curriculum model and methods of evaluation in our country.And integrating the inspiration of both achievements and failure of the British modern apprenticeship,this article investigated the direction and method of our country's vocational education curriculum reform.
