The career-searching self-efficacy of upperclassmen in universities is a concept defined by the self-perception and self-evaluation on the ability/skill in finishing their career-searching tasks. It is not about the ability/skill itself, but their confidence on such kind of ability/skill. It is made clear in literature abroad that the career-searching self-efficacy has an influence on career-searching behavior and results. At present, the domestic study on career-searching self-efficacy is quite rare. The research in this paper probes the theoretical structure of the career-searching self-efficacy and the determinant family factors of it.Based on three months'field study and survey in human resource market in Suzhou, this paper determines the category of abilities and skills for career-searching by encoding the row materials in three levels. Furthermore, by consulting overseas researches of the career-searching self-efficacy this paper develops its theoretical structure.Based on the survey in the university upperclassmen (totally 624 valid samples, with 61 initial samples, 238 preparatory samples and 325 formal samples) and the theoretical construction of the career-searching self-efficacy, this study works out the"Career-Searching Self-Efficacy of University Upperclassmen"primary scale, and adopts the factor analysis method to obtain the approved theoretical structure model of career-searching self-efficacy, which is validated by structural equation model. After that, this study draws up the final scale and then uses it to explore the characteristics of career-searching self-efficacy of university upperclassmen. Besides, by analyzing the related reference papers, the family influence factors of career-searching self-efficacy are explored. Using the self-developed questionnaire for Career-Searching Self-Efficacy of University Upperclassmen and EMBU, FES--CV, FAD, GSES, and SES, this study investigates students (423 valid samples) major in liberal arts, science and engineering from Soochow University, Ocean University of China and Shanghai University, and gets following results after analysis:1. The theoretical structure of the career-searching self-efficacy is composed of six factors. The factors are interest exploring and goal setting, interview skills and self-sale promotion, obtaining social support, problem solving, information collection and obtaining certificates.2. The self-defined career-searching self-efficacy scale of university upperclassmen has good reliability and validity, and can be used to measure the career-searching self-efficacy scale of university upperclassmen. 3. The career-searching self-efficacy scale of university upperclassmen has differences in genders. Generally male students have higher career-searching self-efficacy than female students.4. The career-searching self-efficacy scale of university upperclassmen has differences in grades. The tendency is: postgraduate three > undergraduate four > postgraduate two.5. The career-searching self-efficacy scale of university upperclassmen does not have significant differences in majors in general, but does in some dimensions. They are interesting exploring and goal setting, problem solving.6. There is significant correlation between the career-searching self-efficacy of university upperclassmen and family economic condition along with the education level of mother, understanding and supports from parents, and family communication barrier, and family entertainment activities, and general self-efficacy.7. There are five factors can predict the career-searching self-efficacy of university upperclassmen. They are: family entertainment activities, understanding and supports from parents, the education level of mother, family economic condition and general self-efficacy. They all have direct influence on the career-searching self-efficacy. On the other hand, some also have indirect influence on the career-searching self-efficacy through general self-efficacy. They are family entertainment activities, understanding and supports from parents, the education level of mother.
