During the course of math teaching in the high school, the leading role of teachers should be fully clarified, which will definitely result in the complete demonstration of students' learning enthusiasm. Based on this idea, the thesis expounds the meaning of teachers' leading role in class and the change in teachers' role according to the newly-issued criterion for curricula. Combined with the real cases in teaching, it also deals with how to establish the teachers' leading role in class as well as the ways to bring teachers' leading role to play efficiently, so as to fulfil the perfect combination of teachers' authority and student-centered teaching method.The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part puts forward the problem to be studied, and expounds the meaning of teachers' leading role in maths teaching and the theory on which it is based as well as the new demand for the change in teachers' role according to the newly-issued criterion for curricula. The second part, combined with the actual teaching procedures, is mainly about the positions of teachers and teaching materials in maths teaching in the high school, in which some teaching methods are discussed to demonstrate teachers' leading role and deal with how to stimulate students' participation in teaching activities. The third part is the reflection upon a series of problems existing in nowadays maths teaching and at the end some good ways to solve them are introduced.
