The Study On The Competency Model Of Principal In Guangxi-Zhuang Autonomous Region

Competencies are motivation, traits, self-image, attitudes, values, knowledge, conduct and skills, personal attributes that can distinguish outstanding employees with common employees through authentic measurement. The research of competency began with American in 1970s, after that, it had came to blossom. While our nation's research has just starting its steps. The research has covering a wide field and becoming more and more ripe.The principal is the core educational human resource in the school. Using the competency theory and method for reference to study the human resource in the education, and establishing the competency model of principal, can not only contribute to the principal's management, but also can speeds the principal's professionalization.The research summarizes the competency theory and its application. And then, I applied the competency research method in the research on principal in Guangxi. Based on the deep interview with the principals, we draw out 17 competencies. And then, the author work out a Scale to check the model. In the end, the research get a principal' competency model which included 13 competencies. Their are : Achievement Orientation, Honest, Self-confidence, Hard working and be able to endure hard work, Flexibility, Resource administration ability, National Culture consciousness, Analysis Thinking, Conceptual Thinking, Relation Building, Communication ability, Developing others, Team leading. To some extent, The model can be use as a reference for the researcher and the management to choose, training and estimate the principal suit to the reality of Guangxi's education. And the model have great significance guiding the principal to improve his achievement effect and management efficacy.
