Ever since education of engineering master is founded, institutions for engineering master have been focusing much on the fostering quality of it. Ensuring this quality, together with building sound evaluation indicator system has been a hot issue for research over decades.This study is based on the project of "The study and the practice of the education of engineering master" in Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Firstly, it analyzes the current situation regarding the education of engineering master in our country, with reference to relative experience in this field from some foreign countries. Secondly, it interprets some factors concerning the engineering master students, teachers, managers, curriculum and paper as required by the society and the characteristic of adult learners. Thirdly, it puts forward the self-evaluation indicator system based on former experience of evaluating engineering master as well as on the standard of engineering master's degree in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The self-evaluation indicator system emphasizes the importance of learning motivation, teaching and learning process. It then uses AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) to come up with questionnaires for surveys, then to interview with experts and practitioners in this field, and get the weight set of the index of this self-evaluation indicators system. At last, the researcher designs a platform model of self-evaluation system for engineering master.
