The current structure of the economy in China has undergone such a radical change that many high-tech industries and service industries have been developing at a rapid speed. Therefore, it is urgent to educate highly-skilled college students with high quality, specialized knowledge and perfect work-based skills for the society. This paper aims to i) illustrate the history of the vocational education in Xinyu City, based on the research findings of higher vocational education in China and foreign countries, ii ) analyze in detail the problems in the educational model of the vocational education in Xinyu City and the relevant reasons, iii) put forward our new model for vocational education so as to educate high-skill students with creative awareness and the abilities to put skills such as design, planning and decision-making into real products. According to "The Doctrine of Ail-Around Development of Human Beings", "Quality Education" and "Life-long Education", the KAQ (knowledge, ability and quality) model in this paper is aimed at educating high-skill students who will possess good combinations of knowledge, ability and quality. The mechanism of dynamics, stimulation and social coordination should be adopted to reach the KAQ target. The author hopes to supply reference for the reform of the talent-training model of higher education of vocation in Xinyu City.
