Research On Application Of Knowledge Management In Distance Education Management

From the 1990s, with the fast development of information technology, the human society turned to information society and knowledge society. At the same times, education is facing great opportunity and challenge. Distance education is a new form of educational, the fast development of the distance education practice needs new theory urgently of political economy. The theory of knowledge management(KM), which can solve the problem of the acquirement, sharing and creation of the knowledge, so is can apply to the transformation of distance education theory. This thesis discussed the theory of knowledge management and the possibility of its application in the distance education. Also discussed its application in the two most important domains: the design of distance education teaching resource database and personal knowledge management of distance students. With the theory of knowledge management, the distance education teaching resource database can change from static to dynamic, so it can become the field of sharing of knowledge and creation of knowledge. This thesis also analyzed the connotation of the personal knowledge management of distance students, considers that the ability of personal knowledge management is very important for the effective learning, also analyzed the importance of personal knowledge management, and summarized the steps of personal knowledge management of distance students.
