In the era of knowledge economy, lifelong learning and information education become a hot spot and a trend, rapid advances in information technology, made the requirements of the standard of talents increase rapidly, knowledge has become the most important factor in promoting the social development and human progress, become the most precious resources of human. Lifelong learning will become the survival of mankind, the advantage of remote education makes it become means of learning society. In order to promote the further development of modern distance education, the conflicts of information and learners on the demand for refined knowledge should be resolved, knowledge management is significant in distance education.The author explores the development of knowledge management and the application of knowledge management in field of non-education, basing on the analysis of it, then analyzes the problems of teaching resource knowledge management, based on the existing problems and the development of distance education, establishes the structure model of knowledge management, investigates the knowledge management and the situation of learners, introduces two basic knowledge management tools to a certain extent, some knowledge management idea is provided to distance education in school.The main purpose of this paper is to provide a more reasonable strategy and management model of knowledge management in distance education, to specify ideas of the knowledge management. Learners can use two kinds of tools for knowledge management according to this paper and can use other tools. Knowledge management concepts are introduced to distance education in order to promote the development of distance education, these can make the realization of information and lifelong education come true. The research methods in this paper are literature research and case study and comparative research.This paper includes five chapters, the first chapter of the thesis expounds synthetic research background, present situation and the contents and methods, the second chapter analyzes development and function characteristics of the knowledge management, the third chapter analyzes the classifications of education resources, problems of knowledge management, the existing problems and the necessity and feasibility of knowledge management, basing on these, proposes the strategy of knowledge management and the structure of the system. In the fourth chapter, the third chapter relates the resources of education, expound the knowledge management in this aspect, it is not enough, in order to promote the development of distance education, it is necessary to manage the knowledge of learners, therefore, this chapter discusses the learners' knowledge management, investigates and analyze present situation of learners, according to the actual situation, the author constructs the basic framework of learners, introduce two tools and management strategy to knowledge management. The fifth chapter summarizes and prospects the research work.
