Study On The Influence Of Popular Culture Upon University Students And It's Strategies

As a culture phenomenon, poplar culture first appeared in western countries in the 1960's. Until our country's reform and open policy, accompany with various developments of social businesses, it just start at our country reveal a feet. Due to its features of commercialism and entertainment, this cultural phenomenon developed rapidly at the very beginning, and greatly influenced the people's social lives and ideas. Especially for the university students who have active thought and sensitive disposition, the popular culture affect them more, which deserved people's research. For this, the text clarifies the concept of the popular culture; discuss its manifestation on the campus and it's characteristic. And on such basis above mentioned, this article analyze its influence and reason, then propose a series of measure to regulate the development of the popular culture and to promote the university students'healthy grow. The full text is totally divided into five parts. The big body of the contents as follows:The first chapter is introduction, comprising of four points: the issue to be studies, the definitions of relevant concepts, such as the popular culture,the mass culture and the folk culture, then the literature review at home and abroad, and the structure and originality of the thesis.The second chapter mainly tells the performance and characteristic of the popular cultural. Popular culture's performance in campus mainly includes material, behavior and consciousness three parts. Through these performances we can see the popular culture have commercialism, entertainment, share and mutability four characteristics.The third chapter mainly analyzes the positive and negative affection of the culture to the university student, and these reason of how these influences appeared. Regarding the aggressive aspect, the popular culture can enrich the university students' culture life, develop the university students' modern idea, sped their acculturations process, and alleviate the psychological stress of university students. At the same while, it can produce the negative influence with different degree about university students'consciousness, political conviction and moral concept. Take a comprehensive view of fad culture to these influences of the university students, its reason is various, mainly including the factor of the university students' themselves, the popular culture, social economic development and the public media.The fourth chapter discusses on how to evade the negative influence of the popular culture, and to exertive its positive affects that to promote the university students' growth. Herein it is considered that because of the popular culture's dual influences, we have to use dialectic taste to treat the popular culture exactly first, draw lessons from excellent element within it to play a good part secondly, then strengthen the school aggressive education an front side, evade negative impact of popular culture on university students, the End is to construct a social milieu for the popular culture's positive development and to promote the university students' healthy growth.The fifth chapter is the conclusion. In this part I summarize the main ideas and key points of my thesis with close relevance to the topic of my study.
