The comprehensive development and training on professional abilities of the students at higher vocational colleges refer to many factors such as positioning of developmental objectives, arrangement for professional courses, teaching strategies, teaching environment, establishment of facilities, comprehensive professional abilities of teachers as well as school-running mode etc. However, the restraints of these factors are based upon whether higher vocational colleges can develop their students' professional abilities from the sector of society and enterprise' development, in the meantime, whether can develop their students' comprehensive professional abilities available for active adapting to the environment, society and future jobs, functioning with developmental educational and training ideas as well as dynamic teaching and assessment strategies.As far as the students' professional development are concerned, there are also currently existing higher vocational colleges developing their students' professional abilities, simply emphasizing on the past knowledge and skills and following the traditional vocational educational modes, learning environment and methods. This brings about the students' maladjustment and ignorance while facing the new environment, and results in the shortage and loss for professional abilities. Furthermore, it has an impact on the students' abilities for employment and professional development. The up-to-date conception of vocational education still exists on paper and lacks practical executive force, and review, summarization and refinery afterwards without genuine solving the practical shortage problems of professional abilities of the students at higher vocational colleges.From the beginning of cognitive theory on professional ability, this article sets forth the differences of higher vocational colleges students' development from higher common colleges and secondary vocational colleges. According to the market-oriented and enterprise-talent-choosing needs, the writer locates the developmental orientation on the students' professional abilities at higher vocational colleges. Combining with the practical achievements and existing disadvantages on in-campus students' professional abilities development, the writer further sets forth her individual suggestions and thinking exploration so as to exchange and learn with experts, readers and people in the same circle.
