Because of the impacts brought by increasing enrollment on teaching staff and education management, Chinese higher education is now facing problems that cannot be neglected. Pressure of unemployment keeps growing owning to the more and more intensive competition in job market. Faced up with both the learning and job hunting pressure, students have to take more responsibilities in their own education and career development by acting in a more proactive and efficient way. That's why research on the application of Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) in college students has received increasing attention in recent years. By probing into the obstacles in course delivering and learning weaknesses reflected by job hunting experiences of the Educational Technology postgraduates in S university, this research tries to work out corresponding solutions from the perspective of knowledge transformation and by doing so explores the application of PKM in planning personal education and improving learning performance.Surveys on learner characteristics and course learning obstacles in this case study are carried out and the environment features are also analyzed, the conclusions of which are used as the basis of the designing and construction of the virtual learning community. Feedbacks are collected from users, according to which some further alteration is made. This research serves as an inspiring case study of promoting the application of PKM in college postgraduates as well as an experimental approach of virtual learning community construction.
