Study On Development And Orientation Of Colleges And Universities In Our Country

In the Knowledge Economy Era, higher education has become the main means of social and economic development. The development scale, structure and level of higher education of one country represent its international competitiveness for reality and future. As the important carrier of implementing for higher education, university has becomes from the "marginal" of the society to the "center" of the society. Conform to the needs of the times, Prospering The Nation and Strengthening Country on Talent have become the development strategy for the socialist countries by our government. With the development of higher education popularization, the higher education in our country shows the unprecedented development, gradually.Since the 1990s, a series of problems which are worthy considered have been initiated by rapid development of higher education in our country. Among them the orientation of the colleges and universities has becomes the focus of attention. The orientation of the colleges and universities has become the one of the two important problems to be solved in recent years by the China's Ministry of Education. It's time for universities to scientific orientation, it's the needs of the times and it's also the needs for itself. To be the invincible position in the fierce competition universities must get its own position. Many colleges and universities are now confronted with a large subject of scientific orientation.By using the related theory for the orientation of the colleges and universities, combined with the present situation in China, U.S. and Japan, the paper discusses the internal and external factors in this study. To find the reasons it begins from a variety of the unreasonable phenomenon in orientation of the colleges and universities. Scientific orientation from society government and university has been put forward by the paper. It hopes that the valuable reference would be useful for colleges and universities and to developing the characteristic and to orientation of the colleges and universities.Method of documentation, method of comparative and method of factor-analysis are employed in this study. The paper accumulates correlate studies by collecting and consulting the related study about orientation of the colleges and universities home and abroad. It summarizes some methods and models which are worthy to be referenced. Enlightenment has been got from it. In this study it analysis on internal and external factors so that the result of the study will be more scientific.According to the problems of the orientation of the colleges and universities in our country it gets some countermeasures and suggestions from three angles which are society, government and university. From the society perspective, the whole society should envisage the understanding of colleges and universities, the whole society should correct the evaluation of colleges and universities, enterprises and institutions should play its role. From the government perspective, it should strengthen the leading and coordination of the government. From the universities perspective, it should correct the wrong concept in understanding and make the reasonable development direction in action.
