Nowadays,one's social ability and work ability are largely decided by his information ability.A people who has excellent information ability,can expertly choose and determinate the information needed from numerous complicated and disordered information,and he can masterly use information technique and information tool to process and use information.College students are main force in the future science line.Their information ability have direct impact to the the social development level.In modern society,teachers not only impart knowledge and technical ability to college students,but also we should pay more attention to information ability of college students. Because this is also the basis of lifelong learning ability.Educational psychology studies indicate that studying motivation is one of the most important intelligent factors affecting the studying accomplishment.We carry on a study of the relationship between the undergraduates' study motivation and information ability in Chongqing.This provides certain theory to improve studying and learning ability for a college student.Through the study,we found some conclusions following:â… .The questionnaire for investigate the undergraduates' study motivation and information ability in Chongqing have good reliability and validity.It meets the psychological demands,so we can use it as the measurement tool in the area of this study.â…¡.The questionnaire of study motivation in Chongqing city consists four factors:subsidiary motivation,the expecting motivation,oneself improving motivation and cognition motivation. Average value of every degree is in proper order:subsidiary motivation> oneself improving motivation > cognition motivation> expecting motivation.â…¢.The questionnaire of information ability in Chongqing city consists four factors:using information ability,gaining information ability,handling information ability and exchanging information ability.Average value of every degree is in proper order:using information ability > gaining information ability>handling information ability>exchanging information ability.â…£.The undergraduates who is unlike sex or year or school type or home source does not exit obvious difference for total value of study motivation.But in subsidiary motivation and cognition motivation,they have obvious difference,the scores of boys' subsidiary motivation is higher than girls,the scores of every grade' undergraduates display trend first,and then rise overall,study motivation of science department undergraduates is higher than liberal art undergraduates.â…¤.The undergraduates who is unlike year or school type or home source does exit obvious difference for total value of information ability,but in sex and subject,they does not have obvious difference.Four grade undergraduates have the highest level information ability,the normal university undergraduates have higher information ability than key university and private college, the students from city have higher information than that from country.â…¥.There is positive correlation between study motivation and information ability markedly. Subsidiary motivation and oneself improving motivation have positive effect to information ability, gaining information and handing information have positive effect to oneself improving motivation and cognition motivation.
