Student League of colleges and universities which are in line with the certain procedures are established voluntarily by the students who have common interest to achieve their common goals and ideals and act as the major participants.Student League which supplements the classroom education plays moral education functions on cognitive-orientation,character-building,will-forging and conduct- rule;intellectual education functions on optimizing structure of knowledge and experiences,increasing the thirst for knowledge and enriching information resources;physical education functions on adjusting the psychology and improving the physical and mental health; aesthetic education functions on shaping personality,improving aesthetic judgment and pursuing of well-being life.Student League plays an important role to college and university quality education which is a kind of hidden education.At present,with elastic educational system and full academic credit system to be carried out,the fixed classes become dynamic,the class boundary will be unclear, and the student groups trend to be small-sized,decentralized and personalized.However,the development of Students League based on the student's interests and hobbies are booming,and the influences on the development of the student's personality are becoming greater and greater.The study on functions of hidden curriculum of Student League and their educational roles not only will make a comprehensive and scientific review on the effects of the league to improve student abilities,but also will be helpful to deepen and broaden the reform on the student work and widen the ideas of league construction.However,the results of the literature search show that the current academic research is little related to it directly and through further analysis of the literature,the author found the reason is not Students League isn't without relationship with hidden curriculum or isn't worthless to do research,it's because of lack of concerning about the field.The key of empirical work is on the hidden curriculum in elementary and middle schools,however,on little concerns in colleges and universities,especially in the field of student organizations which are mostly lack of exploration and analysis. In order to make scientific and effective use of the abundant education resources of Student League and improve its development,the author puts forward this study.Through theoretically and logically expounding,analyzing the functions and working mechanism of hidden curriculum, combing the examples of the students' recognition to hidden curriculum and its extant problems,the author puts forward the related strategies.Trough analyzing the literature,learning form the Functional Theory,Main body Theory, A.H.Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory,Social theory on human,combing the essential character of Student League and the functional mechanism and effects of hidden curriculum,the author summarizes the functions of hidden curriculum of Student League cultures.In the process of the analysis,the author made the questionnaire on Student League personally and carried out a survey for 200 university students who were selected randomly in Southwest University,and made an in-depth interview with 5 members from different leagues.Survey demonstrations illustrate that:First of all,on the aspect of current constitution conditions of Student League:existence of Student League is commonly accepted.Most of the students think it has moral education functions. The important aims are pursuing happiness and learning knowledge.There are different demands between the different classes and students.The decisive reason to make the students take part in the leagues is the quality of its actions.The personality is the significant quality of the central character.Second,on the aspects of the functions of the hidden curriculum:the recognition degree on the moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetic functions of the hidden curriculum isn't very high.The recognition degree which is on intellectual education is highest and on aesthetic education is lowest. Functions of hidden curriculum show that the functions of moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetic education impact of the education experience for Members and non- Members there is no significant difference.Based on the findings of this study,the author thinks the current Student League has the following problems:the overall concern about the functions of hidden curriculum education is not high;the guide of value choice lost,and functions of aesthetic education lacked.On this basis,the author puts forward the related suggestions:First,awake up the consciousness,which is the prerequisite to play functions of hidden curriculum;second,use cultures to educate people,create an atmosphere for the harmonization of material,system and spirit;third,design and write down roles, scientifically organize Students League.
