A Comparative Study On Volleyball In Middle Schools In Southern And Northern Jiangsu Province

At present,few people get involved in the horizontal study of sports status,or the status of specific projects in secondary schools in Jiangsu Province.The horizontal study between regions is more conducive to recognize the differences of the sports status in secondary schools and their inner links with such factors as the economy,culture and people's notions.This paper aims to reveal the differences of volleyball activities in secondary schools in different parts of Jiangsu Province, then find out the reasons for the existence of the differences and find solutions to solve the problem.This paper makes an investigation on the volleyball activities of 100 middle schools in such ten places as Nanking, Zhenjiang,Suzhou,Wuxi and Changzhou in southern Jiangsu Province and Xuzhou,LianYunGang Suqian,Huaian and Yancheng in northern Jiangsu Province,making use of surveying questionnaires,collecting and analyzing datas,visiting experts,comparative study and mathematical statistics.This paper gives an analysis and a comparative study on the followings:the volleyball activities in and after class of the secondary schools,the input of funds to the equipment of volleyball venue,the understanding of and attitude to the volleyball activities of the leaders, teachers,students of the secondary schools and parents of the students and the status of the physical education teachers.The conclusion of the study are as follows:(1)There are really some differences in the condition of volleyball activities in class and after class between the middle schools in southern Jiangsu and those of northern Jiangsu.The middle schools in southern Jiangsu are better than those in northern Jiangsu in the.number of volleyball classes,teaching targets and vol'leyballs,so are the students' and the teachers' amateur volleyball teams and games at all levels.(2) The middle schools in southern Jiangsu are better than those in northern Jiangsu in the volleyball playing field and the number of volleyballs,so is the money input.(3) The school leaders and P.E. teachers in southern Jiangsu have a better understanding in and a better attitude to playing volleyball.The students in southern Jiangsu like volleyball better.The students' parents in southern Jiangsu give the students more support on playing volleyball.(4) There are not much differences in age,health condition,specialties and education background of the P.E.teachers in southern and northern Jiangsu,while there are obvious differences in the their sex ratios,titles,paper writing,benefits and understanding in and attitudes to their profession, and the status of the P.E.teachers in southern Jiangsu is better.Acorrding to the findings,this paper analyzes the reasons for the differences and proposes soms countermeasures to resolve the problem.
