Since reform and opening in 1978,with rapid economic and social development and accelerated urbanization, around 200 million farmers have flown into cities and become "migrant workers" Due to Hukou (registered household system) and other reasons, this large group of people is not fully incorporated into cities and their children become "unregistered children ",who are excluded from the regular educational system in cities. This treatment,on one hand, makes the children more positive and optimistic. On the other hand,it causes some problems for the children to adjust to the society, such as lack of confidence, loneliness, interpersonal barrier.Helping the registered children adapt to the society is a major social issue in the transitional period.Sport can play a significant role, because it is an instrumental way of promoting the socialization process of human beings.Based the current study, some attention has been paid to the relationship between physical games and social adjustment, and many research findings have been achieved. However, there are few systematic explorations of the relationship and most of them are qualitative research. They make assumption and analysis based on logic and never put the theory or research findings into practice. Therefore, they are not practical. An intervention experiment how physical games affect the social adjustment of children in schools for migrant workers' children is carried out in this study.Subjects are Grade-5 students of two schools for migrant workers' children in Beijing and are divided into two groups, experimental group and control group.Intervention of physical games is imposed on the experimental group 45 minutes once a week for 12 weeks. The research has the following findings:1.Self-esteem of the experimental group is strengthened remarkably, which proves that physical games can improve self-evaluation,self-esteem and confidence.2.Children in experimental group become more positive, which demonstrates that physical games can bring out positive feelings and alleviate negative feelings.3.Physical games improve the interpersonal relationship, encourage competition and strengthen compliance with discipline and social code of conduct among the children. We can get conclusion:Firstly, physical games can improve the attitude, interpersonal relationship and social adjustment of the migrant workers' children.Secondly,to improve the social adjustment of migrant workers' children by physical games, it requires proper design and implementation, which refers to a clear design philosophy, original contents, targeted and encouraging educational methods, positive group division strategy and post-games discussion to enhance the effect.Thirdly,Social adjustment difficulty of migrant workers' children is the result of many factors and physical games should not,and can not be the only way to solve this problem. Improving the social adjustment of unregistered children relies on the joint involvement and cooperation from family, school and the society. Fundamentally speaking,it needs to be solved at the systematic and institutional level.
