The career motivation is the internal state which directly promotes people's career selection activities to meet some kind of needs.It is also the direct cause and the internal power which make people decide to choose a certain career and maintain this behavior until the final goal is achieved.Since the career motivation,which has the same features as the other types of motivation,aroused all the career selection behaviors and activities,it will be of great importance to research the current state of the primary school teachers,analyze the factors influencing their career motivation,and guide the young students to form reasonable career motivation.The stronger desire to be a teacher,the stronger motivation to choose this career,the more passion and interest a person will have during his career activities,and the more probable to actively improve their professional standard.At the same time,from the perspective of the professional development,teachers can not achieve their own professional development without a strong momentum.The on-the-job professional development momentum has some relations with the motivation in the entry phase of the teacher career.The research center of this thesis is to understand the status quo of the career motivation of the urban primary school teachers.The research is based on the questionnaire survey and supplemented by the interview survey.The survey samples,including about 300 teachers of 10 primary schools in Changsha city,Hunan province,were randomly selected.On the whole,the career motivation and expectation of urban primary school teachers is not intense.Many factors were taken into consideration when teachers chose teacher as their career.In these factors,some play a key role,while the others are only the reference and can not affect people's decision.The analysis results show that the most important factors considered by teachers are those concerned with the social status,such as economical treatment,the professional prestige and so on.Based on the above analysis results,the native and international research results,we preliminarily discuss some contradictions confronted by primary school teachers,such as the high expectation of the community and the much low social status,the multiple responsibility and the relatively low economic treatment,the sacred impression and the much low public evaluation,the professional requirements and the quasi-professional nature,and so on.Moreover,we try to put forward some reasonable proposals for the young students from the social,the people,and pre-service teacher education aspects.
