Research On Employment Security Of College Graduates In Jilin Province

With the increasing scale of recruitment by tertiary institutions since 1999,the number of graduates in Jilin Province has increased by 44%from 74 thousand in 2004 to 13.3 in 2008. Employment is becoming increasingly difficult with the reform of employment system and change of employment situation.On one hand,our country lacks professionals;on the other hand,the graduates find it very difficult to find jobs.Solutions of the problem have become the concern of the whole society.By assessing the employment modes and home and abroad,by introducing some theories of sociology,by analyzing the employment situation of Jilin's college graduates,the thesis identifies some factors that influences the employment situation in Jilin, furthermore this thesis attempts to find out some ways to solve the employment and employment security problems for college graduates in Jilin Province:(1) Development of economy is the basis for improving the employment rate of college graduates;(2) Ad vocation of educational renovation for the purpose of training human resources adaptable to the social and economic development of Jilin Province;(3) strengthening employment guidance and perfecting employment market;(4) perfect social security system and policies,etc.In the course of the research,we have obtained materials from 20 typical working units in Jilin Province,concerning using personal,demands on majors,levels of schooling employment channels and forecast on future personal demands.The research results show that the structure contradiction of college graduates' employment is very obvious;the needs of graduates shows the imbalance,the employing units select the graduates from some famous universities and colleges firstly;It is lack of characteristic for the setting up the subjects and majors to the colleges and universities,and it shows that it is more difficult for the normal universities' graduates to find a good job,even just a job;the graduates expected themselves with high value, but their abilities for practicing are very weak.The thesis consists of four parts:(1) background and meaning of the research;(2) brief review of theories;assessment of employment modes of college graduates at home and abroad; (3) analysis of the college graduates' employment situation and employment security in Jilin Province;(4) ways to deal with the situation.This thesis targets on the college graduates' difficulty in employment,aiming at alleviating the difficult situation and creating a win-win situation for both education and economy.
