| With the carrying out of teaching reform in every province these years, It's for the first time that music lesson has become a required course in senior high schools. It shows that music teaching is paid more and more attention in basic education period ,in which the most successful part is to sort out teaching content into group parts. Music appreciation , as the required course, is the main way to improve students'basic music cultivation. The function and value in music teaching is highly emphasized. In the carrying out of the new course, we have found the problems existing in it . How to improve the English teaching quality has become a big and emergent research topic of this city.The thesis conducts a survey study on music teaching of senior high schools in Baicheng city. Questionnaires and interviews are used , in order to get an entire grasp of the present situation of music teaching in senior high schools and to find out an effective way to solve the problems. The investigation focuses on thefollowing aspects:music level of students; students'studying attitude and motivation; teachers'teaching and research; the usage of textbook . According to the questionnaire's statistics, it analyzes the problems existing in senior high schools in Baicheng. It also puts forward the strategies and approaches that will improve the music teaching quality in sesenior high schools.The thesis contains 4 parts:Chapter1 emphasizes the importance and necessity of this research topic by describing its background and the basic basement .Chapter2 conducts a survey study on music teaching of senior high schools in Baicheng in forms of questionnaire.Chapter3 according to the questionnaire's statistics, it analyzes on the limitation and insufficiency in music teaching in Baicheng .Chapter4 puts forward the strategies and approaches on the following aspects: students; teaching; teachers; textbooks, which will improve the music teaching quality in senior high schools.
