With the rapid development of science and technology, information technology has got the same development. How to use advenced information technology to enrich education resources, improve teaching quality and reform the teaching status quo, is an important task to all the teachers. The music appreciation course of higher vocational colleges which not only aimed at improving the students’quality education, but bring the higher demand of integration of information technology and music appreciation course.This study is divided into five parts. The first part summarized the research results at home and abroad, and pointed out the research ideas and direction. The second part systemized the related concepts and theories. The third part investigated500students and180teachers in higher vocational colleges in city of Guangzhou, through the in-depth investigation on the construction situation of teaching staff, the curriculum resources and the mechanism guarantee and policies of schools, the application of information technology, music foundation of students, students’preferences in music appreciation courses and the importance of music appreciation course and other several aspects, analyzed and summaried the application status of information technology in music appreciation course of higher vocational colleges. The fourth part made a set of teaching strategy about the application of information technology in music appreciation course in higher vocational colleges. The fifth part applied those strategies into practice.Finally this study come to the following conclusions:1. The methodology of making full use of advanced information technology to guide the teaching in music appreciation course has yet to be further improved. It needs to be analysed from the teaching status quo problems. From the500questionnaires and in-depth interviews on12teachers, there are a series of comprehensive factors such as students, teachers, schools, education system, social concept and so on.2. Above the relevant problems of the further investigations, the author started from the present stage, reflected on the related problems, and from four aspects of the teachers, students, schools, the resource constructions, put forward relevant improvement measures. According to the improved measures designed the application strategy about the integration of information technology and music appreciation teaching class. Specific strategies as follows: the first, to establish a teaching resources based on campus network project course teaching which consists of five major platforms—web learning resource, classroom learning platform, panel discussion platform, extracurricular practice information feedback and evaluation mechanism. The second, student groups for a subject of the presentation together. 3. The author applied the strategy into practice teaching. Take the students of music performance, class1, of trade vocational college of science and technology in Guangzhou as the object of practice, through a three-month practice, the methodology of integration the information technology in music appreciation class had got positive and effcetive influence. Through the information platform and evaluation mechanism of information feedback, the author found that the teaching theory has received the good effect.
