Professional self-consciousness of kindergarten teachers refers to a series of emotional experience,planning expectation,self-oognition and self-evaluation,which correlate with their profession and form during their career.Teachers' professional self-consciousness is an internal motivation in teachers' professional development.Only making self-cognition and self-evaluationt clear could teachers position themselves well and keep their own cognitive activities in a positive, self-monitoring and regulation.This study was designed to investigate current situation of kindergarten teachers' professional self-cousciousness and then to explore factors affecting it so as to provide a theoretical basis for improving quality of kindergarten teachers and promoting professional growth of them.The study use self-made "kindergarten teachers' professional self-consciousness questionnaire" as a research tool,and take the whole cluster sampling method and stratified sampling method combinative.This study conducted a questionnaire survey of 250 kindergarten teachers in some cities,to inspect the present status of kindergarten teachers' professional self-consciousness.The main conclusions of the research are as follows:1.The scores of the majority of kindergarten teachers' professional self-consciousness are on the middle-level,but there are still a small number of kindergarten teachers whose overall level of professional self-consciousness is lower.Among three factors of professional self-consciousness, professional self- experience gets the highest scores,and professional self- regulation gets the lowest scores.2.There is no significant difference among teachers in different kinds of kindergartens for the overall level of professional self-consciousness.But there are significant differences in self-regulation,and public kindergartens scored higher than private kindergartens.3.There are significant differences on scores among different teaching ages at four levels, which are professional self-knowledge,professional self-regulation,professional self-experience, and the overall scores.With the increasing of teaching ages,kindergarten teachers' professional self-consciousness shows a trend of rising-falling-rising.4.There are significant differences in professional self-regulation among different educated kindergarten teachers.The higher education the teacher is,the higher overall scores of professional self-consciousness are.5.There are significant differences in professional self-knowledge,professional self-regulation and overall level of professional self-consciousness among different grade kindergarten teachers. The higher grade the kindergarten is,the higher overall scores of professional self-consciousness are. But the secondary kindergarten got the highest score in self-experience factor6.There are significant differences in three factors and overall level of professional self-consciousness among kindergarten teachers with different titles.The higher the title level is,the higher the professional self-consciousness factors and the professional self-consciousness overall scores are.This study also examined 10 first-line kindergarten teachers by depth interview.The result showed the environmental factors which influence kindergarten Teachers' professional self-consciousness are:social status,social support,organizational climate,and organizational image. And individual factors are:motivation of working and choosing a job,occupational identity, practitioner's firmness,job satisfaction.
