Cooperative learning is a new study method advocated by new course. Based on cooperative learning group,its teaching organization systematically employs the interaction of various dynamic factors. Because of the great improvement of the psychological atmosphere in the classroom,the big increasing of students' academic performance and the promotion of students in forming good non-cognitive characters, cooperative learning is considered to be "one of the most important and successful education reforms in recent decades."By methods of literatures,interviews with experts in law, experimental data,surveys and statistics,this article studies the connotations,the basic elements,the implementation strategies,the basic ideas and theories of cooperative learning.Based on previous studies of cooperative learning,we carried on experimental research in college and university table tennis teaching,aimed to study existing problems and further research ideas in this field.The teaching experimental design using cooperative learning in college and university table tennis teaching is exactly a detail design of the teaching objectives,teaching conditions,teaching strategies,teaching processes and evaluation of cooperative learning in college and university table tennis teaching.The control group is used in the experiments.Before and after the experiments separately,a survey was carried out focusing on the experimental class and control class's technical skill assessment,standards and theoretical knowledge test, as well as the attitudes of learning,social behaviors,group cohesion and peer relationships.Moreover,questionnaires were finished by the experimental classes to investigate the effect of cooperative learning. The survey results show that statistical analysis:1 Both the use of cooperative learning and traditional teaching in college and university table tennis teaching can significantly improve students' technological level,but in the evaluation session for technical assessment,cooperative learning is superior to the traditional teaching;It can not significantly improve the physical fitness of the students,because they were lack of time to practice,and enough training strength.2 In college and university table tennis teaching,using cooperative learning is better than the traditional teaching to help students to master the theory of knowledge and correct their attitude,hence build a foundation for their lifelong learning.3 In college and university table tennis teaching,using cooperative learning is better than traditional teaching to enhance the internal cohesion of the collective,improve the relationships between the fellow, and easily create a good atmosphere of the class and hence enhance learning efficiency.4 The using of cooperative learning in college and university table tennis teaching is better than traditional teaching for students to enhance their co-operation skills and train their team spirits of cooperation, properly handle the relationship between competition and cooperation, and enhance their social adaptabilities,which accord with modern society demand.5 The multi-faceted interaction in Cooperative learning based teaching smoothes the relationship between teacher and student,brings a pleasant and harmonious atmosphere in the classroom,increases students' academic performance,and develop students' non-cognitive characters to meet the new curriculum reform.As a result,cooperative learning could not only be applied to college table tennis teaching,but also provides a useful reference for other physical education reforms.
