Mental health is an important component of human health,and depression is the first killer of mental disease.Chinese shadowboxing(or Taijiquan) has attracted public attention because of its huge potential of mental health promotion.Students are a country and nation's future and hope, whose health is related to the future of the country and the nation.The latest epidemiological survey shows that about 23.66%of college students in Beijing are suffering from depression.According to this data, we can figure out that the number of students suffering from depression should not be less than 100,000 in Beijing' s college.Therefore,it is a major,urgent and practical issue of universities to probe into the situation of the depression of university students and its mechanism, and to take effective measures and means to prevent the occurrence of depression in college students,and to improve their mental health.Through the access to the literature we found:research scholars at home and abroad have done a lot of fruitful research on physical training, particular Taijiquan's impact on depression.It enriches people's awareness and practice of Taijiquan on the control of depression.But most of the studies are qualitative research,they are more on the argumentative level,which lacks strong experimental data to support. What' s more,they only discuss the antidepressant function of Taijiquan in the macro approach.The experimental studies of Taijiquan's impact on different groups are relatively weak,and the studies are also confined to the elderly.This field lacks the comprehensive and systematic study of college students.To transform the way of thinking,we try to enable all students to experience and enjoy Taijiquan as well as to change their way of thinking through the sports and health courses of the Taijiquan learning and the supervision of extra-curricular sports training.This paper discusses the practical significance of Taijiquan exercise on the prevention and treatment of depression. experimental approach.24 forms Taijiquan is practiced by female college students.Through theanalysis of the statistics test and comparative analysis of indicators of depression before and after of Taijiquan practicing,the paper studies the method and effectiveness of Taijinquan on the prevention of female college students'depression.Conclusions: first,within the scope of the College Physical and Health Course and extra-curricular sports training,practicing Taijiquan is effective in the prevention of depression of female college students,and its effect is better than other sports training projects.Second,Taijiquan exercises help to improve the ability of internal control of female students,and it is more effective on science students than the literature students.Third,practicing Taijiquan helps the female students improve internal control.It shows that practicing Taijiquan helps them increase the awareness of the consistency between their actions and consequences. It provides a good psychological basis for the control of depression.Forth,it has different effect on the different students with different level of internal control.The lower their internal control is,the better the effect on preventing depression by practicing Taijiquan will be.Suggestion:popular the knows of Taijiquan in college,let the students know the Taijiquan is not merely senior citizen's movement,the young people practices also have very good promotes psychological and the physiological health function.
