It is of great significance to carry out career planning for individuals and organizations in the era of knowledge economy. Regarding female studying in universities, career planning helps them recognize their potential, enhance the sense of purpose and the planning for career development and guide the continuous progress. However, these are just general role of career planning. The specificity of career planning is that it is not only the concept of human resource management and technical issues. Gender which is considered as a concept of social relations and cultural infiltrates in female human resource management and it impacts awareness of career planning and conducts profoundly. Therefore, the paper embarks from the view of gender theory, through using such methods analysis of documents, questionnaire investigation, structured specific interview etc, picking six colleges and universities in Chongqing as investigation target, we got the problems of career planning of female studying in universities as follows:â‘ Lack of awareness of career planning and there are some defects of self-assessment;â‘¡The inequality of recruitment, hiring and promotion in labor markets restrict the career development of women;â‘¢The conflict between the role of women in families and social roles of women impede career development;â‘£The "fear" of success of highly educated female leads to lower achievement motivation than male.Basing on the above issues, I believe that career planning of female studying in universities must be integrated into gender mainstreaming so as to fulfill the goal-coordinate individual intentions and social career trends, female's career development and gender career equal development. Therefore, the paper put forward the following countermeasures:â‘ Basing on the combination of the individual and the school, to carry out career planning;â‘¡To create a social environment of equally gender development of occupational to promote female's career development;â‘¢To promote the socialization of housework to relieve the conflict of women's role;â‘£To change the traditional gender culture, and to update the concept of career development.
