Recitation teaching methods is our traditional method of education, it has a long history. Tracing to its source, Education in ancient China attaches great importance to recitation teaching. Since the modern Chinese language become an independent subject in 1904, although there are experts to advocate, but the overall trend is still weaken. In the middle-school of Chinese teaching, teachers and students lay great stress on analysis, scanning and writing rather than recitation, or reading aloud. Teachers and students are busy with the test, so they often ignore recitation and cultivation of the feeling of the language, which leads to an unsatisfying teaching effect. Since the new curriculum reform, recitation teaching is paid attention once again. Meanwhile, the ability of the feeling for words, accumulation of Chinese language, realization and edification are all advocated and emphasized in"the Standard of Compulsory Senior for China students"and"ordinary standards of high school language courses (experimental version)"issued by National Education Council in 2001. And recitation teaching is an important way to accumulated knowledge and sense of language acquisition.This article is divided into five parts: The first part gives us a brief introduction of recitation teaching. On the basic of a clear understanding about recitation teaching, it recites the development, advantages and characteristics of recitation teaching; It tell us the important part and meaning that recitation teaching plays in Middle-school Chinese teaching; The third part briefly explained the context of the new curriculum teaching of reading, and straighten out the table of contents under the new curriculum standards for middle school language teaching reading; In part four, I conducted a survey to identify the reasons and analyze through questionnaires, interviews and comparative analysis of the current status of junior high school language reading instruction; The last part, it discussed the practice of recitation teaching in Chinese teaching. In view of present situation of recitation teaching, it strives to find a new path leading to an efficient and effective manner to improve language teaching junior high school.
