Peace is one of the most important requirements for prosperity and development of human society. If there is no stable and peaceful international environment, it is impossible for any countries and nations to develop further. After the Third Plenary Meeting of the 11th Session of CPC, Deng Xiaoping summarized the experiences and lessons in Chinese history, and analyzed the international situation. Then he made the remark that the main topic of the times was "Peace and Development".At the beginning of the new century, peace and development is still the main topic. In the conference for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, Chinese President Hu Jintao said peace is the fundamental requirement of the development of human society. If there is no peace, new construction can not be boosted and the past fruit would be ruined by war. One basic point of "Harmonious World" is to maintain the peace and stability of world. Nowadays, peace and stability is inevitably first and foremost important. Without peace, any development and progress would just be dream.Rethinking the historical events and contemporary problems, we can conclude the long term influence of culture of war and violence is main resource that could break the peace. The 20th century has already had unique brand of war. In order to avoid the influence of the wars, it is necessary to carry out Peace Education, because its main aims are to eliminate the war and violence and to maintain the peace of world as well as developing peace ability.In China, this article is one of the early studies that focus on Peace Education and first exploration for Peace Education in Germany. It not only clarifies the intension and extension of concept of Peace Education and introduces the ideas and practice of Peace Education in Germany during recent years, but also points out the problems of Peace Education in Germany and gets some inspirations. This study fills up the blank in this field in China and makes some suggestions on how to make Peace Education in China.First of all, there are a few of Chinese peace researchers introduces some relevant topics on Peace Education, and rare education researchers study Peace Education. Therefore, the second part of the article introduces the Peace and Peace Education in details. The main point is to discuss the intention and aims of Peace Education in Germany. Secondly, the third part introduces the development of Peace Education in Germany before 1945. Thirdly, the forth and fifth parts explore the development of ideas on Peace Education and the teaching modes in Germany. The theoretical aspect includes the theories from "Reeducation" after Would War II and "Attack Theory" is based on psychology. The practical aspect contains the teaching modes from kindergarten education to higher education. Finally, according to the systems of Peace Education in Germany, the sixth part indicates the problems of Peace Education in Germany today. Furthermore, the article enlightens theoretical and practical aspects that China could learn from Peace Education in Germany.
