With the Depth of the second curriculum reform, many achievements have emerged, but at the same time a number of drawbacks have exposed. Today how to inherit and develop the curriculum reform are the major problems. Improve the curriculum standards and teaching materials is most pressing matter of the moment.It is so-called "Stones from other hills, we can learn", studying the way of curriculum reform in other countries and analysis the curriculum standards and teaching materials of other countries will enable us to fewer detours. This article selected the UK curriculum standards and teaching materials as the object for research and comparison. Contrast the Shanghai second curriculum reform, the article analyzed the similarities and differences between Shanghai and UK. These will provide some reference and foundation for Shanghai curriculum reform.This article discussed from the horizontal angle and vertical Angle respectively: First of all, the article introduce the status of British education, education system, examination system, and then talk about the development of science education in UK. The reason for these, first to introduce the background of the UK physics courses, second to analysis longitudinally how curriculum reform has been advanced step by step as well as how physical education reform today's situation. They prepare for the Comparative Study.Then starting the comparative study from Horizontal analysis, the research work is divided into a number of links: The first step is on the base of the curriculum standard, namely setting out physics curriculum standards between the UK and the Shanghai respectively, and being analyzed and compared. The article contrasted the curriculum objectives, curriculum philosophy, curriculum content, curriculum evaluation, teaching suggestions, and so on, the United Kingdom new round curriculum reform around the "Inquiry" to start, which is also important for Shanghai curriculum reform. Therefore, exploring the inquiry how to display in the curriculum standards is an important element.On the base of contrasting the curriculum standards, the article access to the second step, namely the comparison of the physical materials. Physical materials are the carrier of courses, researching materials are in favor of analyzing the implementation of curriculum standards. Contrast work for teaching materials used by the overall approach to local contrast. The comparison starting form the overall comparison of two materials, and layout the difference and characteristics, then select the part of the materials for a more detailed comparison. The article analyzed differences between two materials from the overall content angle and the individual differences. Finally, the article got the conclusions.
