This research selected a rural case able to vividly reflect the modern context and in the way of sparrow dissection made in-depth analysis on the composition and status of social capital in rural areas and discussed the relationship between social capital and the supply of public goods in rural areas, which is of important practical and theoretical significance. From a practical perspective, the research, based on the reality of Chinese society, through empirical studies analyzed the relationship between social capital and the supply of public goods in rural areas and accordingly made proposals on policy to strengthen social capital in rural areas, which will help to promote the supply of public goods in rural areas and accelerate the building of new socialist rural areas, thus contributing to narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas and conducive to the construction of a harmonious society and the building of a comprehensive well-off society. Combined with specific case studies, the research took an analytical strategy "process - incident" to discuss how the various factors of social capital affect the supply of public goods in rural areas, which will be able to fill in the gap of domestic research in this field and help to enrich and develop social capital-related theories. This paper first analyzed the patterns of social capital in rural areas and by research argued that the various types of social capital in China's rural areas show apparently local characteristics; the form of social capital is still dominated by relationship network and informal system, and the organization-based and formal system-based pattern of social capital is relatively small. The rural participation networks can be divided in accordance with the characteristics into ordinary interpersonal network, such as family clan and neighborhood, symbolic activity network and functional network. Villagers in their respective participation network show trust, reciprocity and cooperation and people under the effect of trust, reciprocity and norms are maintaining the organic integration of the village. The research suggested that in rural areas the nature of semi-acquaintance community, coupled with the lack of modern social capital results in vertical social network as the leading force of cooperation among villagers. In the process of cooperation, the rural reciprocity norms provide villages with a mechanism of trust and reciprocity; the capable and prestigious organizers give important support to cooperation among villagers, which will be conducive to the accumulation of social capital.
