There has been an influential reform on the Biology curriculum since "Biology Curriculum Standard of Full-time Compulsory Education (Experimental Draft)" was made in July, 2001. The educational theory that "Biology Curriculum Standard of Full-time Compulsory Education (Experimental Draft)" advocates provides a brand new perspective to biological education and also brings us a clear concept of Biology curriculum resource. As the reform is implemented nationwide, the exploration and utilization for the Biology curriculum resource is becoming a very important part. By referring to lots of literatures about the curriculum resource, the author finds that most of the literatures mention the issues about the utilization for curriculum resource based on the textbooks and biological practice; only few of them mention the specific methods and approaches to the exploration and utilization for the Biology curriculum resource.The author takes the polls and the interview methods to analyze the status and countermeasures of exploration and utilization for the Junior Middle School Biology Curriculum Resource of Baotou City Kun Urban and also uses Excel2003 software to process the data. By analyzing the data, the problems of the exploration and utilization for the Junior Middle School Biology Curriculum Resource are found as follows:1. Only 83.3% of the Junior Biology teachers in the city and rural areas are qualified. The systematized and specialized curriculum training should be provided to the teachers.2. The Biology teachers with a low social status have such great deal of work to do that they barely have any time and energies to explore and utilize the curriculum resource and put it into practice. The provided assistance of non-professional lab technicians is also not enough.3. Nearly all the teachers ignore the relationship between the teachers and the students and the support from the students' parents as an important and special curriculum resource. 4. The system of the evaluation for the new curriculum reform is made stagnant. The fact that practice is less important than the written test in High School Entrance Examination leads to a big gap between the adapted teaching mode and the criterion of the new curriculum.5. The professional teachers in rural areas are short-handed; the criterion of conduct of private schools is not standardized.Then several strategies are made to solve the problems that exist in the process of the exploration and utilization for the curriculum resource. And some constructive advice is given to help implement the reform. The author thinks that several measures must be taken as follows:1. The teacher-training related to the new curriculum reform should be reinforced and made professionally so that teachers aim to explore and utilize the curriculum resource better.2. Some methods should be taken to arouse the teachers' enthusiasm and passion to ensure the teachers' main status. The school curriculum management database should be built to make the curriculum resource full and reasonable use.3. With the strong public support, a relatively full-equipped curriculum reform support system can be built to carry out the new curriculum reform.4. High school entrance examination system should be further improved and the related evaluation system should be made.5. Some advice about changing the situation of the schools in rural areas and the private schools can be given to the government to make sure all the students are equal to learn with the same resource.The strategies that the author raises will be good stimuli to promote the development of reform on the exploration and utilization for the Biology curriculum resource. It is believed that this essay will play an instructional role in how to explore and utilize the curriculum resource during the practice of Biology teaching.
