Interdisciplinary training of postgraduate students plays a very important role inthe development of the society and universities,particularly in optimizing the country'Sinnovation system,improving universities'training abilities and their owncompetitiveness.While in most of China'S universities,the training of postgraduatestudents is still based on education of single subj ect or multi—disciplinary subj ect.Interdisciplinary paradigm of education in general has not yet formed.To overcomebarriers and strengthen the links between subj ects,at last form an effective mechanismfor interdisciplinary training of postgraduate students is the main purpose of this study.This research is divided into five sections,which are as follows:Section I,IntroductionIn this section,the author analyzed the background of the research,elaborated thesignificance and defined the relevant concepts in this section.After summing up theresearches and practices at home and abroad,the author summarized the point of viewand ideas for the research at last.Section II,analysis for the related theory of interdisciplinary educationIn this section,based on an overview of our postgraduate education'S history,theauthor compared the characteristics between interdisciplinary education andsingle—subj ect education.And the author analyzed the driving force of the developmentof interdisciplinary education,the types of interdisciplinary activities,as well as therelationship between interdisciplinary education and interdisciplinary research.Theseanalyses provided a basis for the following research.Section III,the analysis of status and constraints of the domestic universities ininterdi sciplinary training of postgraduate studentsThis section carried out the case studies and empirical research in two domesticuniversities at medium level view.Based on the case studies,and combining the relateddata and information,the author generalized the state of our universitiesinterdisciplinary training of postgraduate students in the current situation,summed upconstraints and the main problems in interdisciplinary training of postgraduate students.Section IV,the case studies of the mechanism of interdisciplinarypost—postgraduate training in the universities abroadIn this section,the author introduced and analyzed two new type of universitiesabroad base on interdisciplinary and two interdisciplinary training programs ofpostgraduate students,summed up four characteristics of the idea of running school,theorganization of university,the system of knowledge and the process of training, provided the useful practices and experiences of the interdisciplinary training ofpostgraduate students for our universities.Section V,the strategies and recommendations for the mechanism ofinterdisciplinary training of postgraduate students in our universitiesThe author summed up the mechani sm of interdi sciplinary training of postgraduatewhich is made up by the mechanism ofthinking,the mechanism ofmanagement,themechanism of training,the mechanism of evaluation and incentive on the basis of frontsection text....
