The Research On Sustainable Development Of Sichuan Province Higher Education

The reason why higher education occupy such an important position in people's lives today, mainly due to its various functions such as training talents, conducting research, serving the community and many more which evolved alongside the progress of society. To progress, a country or a region will certainly have to develop its education, especially higher education; therefore, the development of higher education, which decides the rise or fall of the country or region, is very important.Sichuan Province is located in the western part of China, with the economy lagging behind, the development of higher education suffered some difficulties. This thesis will focus on analysis and research, and try to promote Sichuan higher education to achieve sustainable development.In this thesis, I start from a philosophical point of view, first discuss the relationship between sustainable development and higher education, point out that higher education promote the sustainable development of society, and at the same time, itself need to achieve sustainable development, or higher education will be unsustainable; then apply the concept of sustainable development on higher education, point out the requirements and principles that Sichuan higher education must meet to achieve sustainable development; then use many pages, divide and analyze the process of Sichuan higher education into three parts: the foundation, the operation and the talent output, point out the problems, analyze the causes and propose solutions or suggestions; and in the end, a summary is made.At present, there are many problems in Sichuan higher education:(1) About the foundation part, there is always a problem of inadequate education funding, and lack of good teachers, with a non-conforming structure of higher education institutions.(2) About the operation part, in recent year, the expansion of enrollment has brought down the quality of education, and at the same time, the talent-training mode in Sichuan province is outdated, the talents we trained can't meet the needs of modem society.(3) About the output part, with a lagging economy and the global depression, the employment difficulties among higher education graduates are serious, meanwhile, the unsuitable majors and courses made the situation even worse. These problems lead Sichuan higher education to a state of unsustainable development, influenced the whole progress of Sichuan development, and should be considered a serious warning.To solve these problems and promote the healthy development of Sichuan higher education, this thesis put forward corresponding solutions or proposals:(1) For the foundation part, it is proposed to increase investment, and the money should be spent with care, talented teachers should be trained and strengthened, when setup or expand, higher education institution must pay attention to the position realization and characteristics development.(2) For the operation part, it is point out that in order to ensure the quality of teaching and training, the education resources and support policies must keep up with the enrollment expansion; about talent training mode, Compound talent training is the target, and there is a vivid description of what is compound talent.(3) For the talent output part, it is wrong to think that the difficulty of employment is the result of enrollment expansion, we should develop the economy to increase jobs, and at the same time, adjust the structure of majors and courses can strengthen the ability of students, and enhance their competitiveness.
