One crucial mission for our military universities is to further educational reform, promote modern methodology in all academic aspects, enhance teaching quality, and produce high-quality all-around military talents. Undergraduate classroom instruction, the centerpiece for a military university, has direct and profound impacts on teaching quality as well as on the utilization of military information. As the core part of educational assessment in military academy, the evaluation of undergraduate classroom instructions plays a significant role in encouraging teaching personnel at all levels to be enthusiastic, active and creative, helping university authorities to correct any deviations from guiding principles, focusing on teaching, bettering academic infrastructure, completing educational management system, deepening educational reform, improving teaching quality, and creating a favorable teaching environment.After categorizing and summarizing various concepts and theories in the field of teaching evaluation in China and abroad, this article elaborates on the meanings of the evaluation of undergraduate classroom teaching in military universities. Starting with qualitative analysis, this article employs quantitative method of principal component analysis to identify the major factors with impacts on classroom teaching. Given the principles and specifications in the evaluation of undergraduate classroom teaching, the following creates two models using fuzzy-logic and gray comprehensive evaluation methods, examines the effectiveness, validity and reliability of the two models, and discusses an index system or a more comprehensive model for the evaluation of undergraduate classroom teaching in military universities.
