The research of testing Students' Degree of Satisfaction in universities started in America in 1950s or 1960s. Fifty years later, it has formed into mature theories, systems and methods. This paper will be of great help and significance to realizing the strategy of people oriented , reforming education and deploying resources reasonably by testing Students' Degree of Satisfaction, internal and external. The research began later in China, which was about just internal testing. it hasn't formed into scientific and convincing systems of internal and external tesing, which can't satisfy the need of high-speeding development and improvement of high education in China. So it's necessary to do the research systematically on testing theory, system, methods and comparative studies of Students' Degree of Satisfaction.The paper takes an analysis comparatively of the modes, characteristics and results of Students' Degree of Satisfaction in China and America, England and predicts the development trend, using the thoeries of high pedagogy, sociology, mathematical statistics, consumer psychology and mass communication and understanding the current situation of Students' Degree of Satisfaction, its testing system and its methods. This article presents systematically the testing history, current situation, running systems, scale and methods of Students' Degree of Satisfaction in foreign countries, especially in America and England. And then several suggestions are made to improve the testing work of Students' Degree of Satisfaction for China.Some results are as follows:One. The research of testing Students' Degree of Satisfaction in America and England has formed into mature theories, systems, modes and methods, which are practical, advanced and convincing and referenced certainly. So they are both guidance to our country even though the modes of testing Students' Degree of Satisfaction in America and England are a little different.Two. China should put forward the research and practice of testing Students' Degree of Satisfaction in universities. A lot of foreign practice indicates that testing of Students' Degree of Satisfaction promote the development of high education, even though some disputes still exist in academic fields.Three. Our national testing of Students' Degree of Satisfaction in universities must be pushed forward by the leading power of local government, the key point of which is to build a national system of testing Students' Degree of Satisfaction with local government as its center. Combining with our national conditions, we can introduce universitiy students' NSS from England which is quite suitable and practicable.Four. Our testing of Students' Degree of Satisfaction in universities should be established in our national conditions, whose purpose is to promote our high education to develop fast and solve the serious problems in the educational reforms, especially the problems of students oriented. Now , because of the uncompleted system of Students' Degree of Satisfaction in China, we should first practise, then complete it, first rely on policy ,then use agents. After several years, we can build proper system, testing system and working mode of Students' Degree of Satisfaction. For the sake of future, it's a trend to develop social organization of agents under the leadership of local government. We should build proper Quality Standard for testing and guarantee the work of testing Students' Degree of Satisfaction to go well and smoothly.
