A Research On College Counselors'Occupational Values

College counselors'occupational values are the general values reflected in professional life of counselors, which is understands of the meaning and importance for themselves and society that the counselors'inner based on some certain evaluation criteria to their career, unified personal occupational values and social occupational values. College counselors' occupational values whether right or not, which is not only related to their own level and direction of professional development, affecting the extent and level of education of students, but also affecting the success or failure of state education profoundly. However, theorists on the systematical and specialized study on college counselors'occupational values are rare. Therefore, how to conduct scientific and reasonable college counselor'occupational values has important theoretical and practical significance.On the basis of sorting out the concept of counselor professional values, main contents and functions, this paper makes an investigation on the status of occupational values of college counselors'in our country. The results show that the current occupational values of college counselors'is positive and healthy in general, however, there is a small number of occupational values of college counselors'whose targets are utilitarian and shortly, criterions of occupational evaluation are utilitarian, orientation of occupational value has individualistic tendency, lacking of identity of occupational values and other issues. By analysis, the reasons for these problems are the impact of the market economy values to the occupational values of college counselors', the lag of education and guidance of occupational values of college counselors', protection mechanism of occupational values of college counselors'is not sound and neglect of self-education of college counselors themselves. Finally, against the main problems and reasons of occupational values of college counselors, proposed construction way of occupational values of college counselors by reinforcing the education of guidance, building better circumstance and improvement of protection mechanism of occupational values of college counselors', strengthening self-education.
