The Investigation And Research Of Occupational Values For College Counselors In Liaoning Province

College counselors who has teachers and cadres of double identity are an importantpart of higher school teachers and managers team, they are not only the backbone tocarry out the ideological and political education,but also the organizer, actor and guiderof college students’ daily ideological and political education and management. Theirbehavior did not only directly influence college students’ healthy growth, but alsodirectly influence the harmonious, sustainable and health development of society. Theirunderstanding and view of their occupational values directly influences the education andmanagement behavior and work efficiency. The concept of college counselor’soccupational values is point to their stable faith and evaluation system concerned withtheir work, it affects and guides their work behavior and result of the college counselor.college counselor’s occupational values are the values in the reflection of professionallife, it not only determines the counselor’s development and career choice, but alsoaffects their attitude, behavior and performance of work. Therefore, to investigate andresearch of college counselor’s occupational values has vital importance.On the basis storing the related concept of college counselor’s occupationalvalues,main elements, types and functions, this paper make an investigation and researchof college counselor’s occupational values in Liaoning province from60universities. Theresults show that the current college counselor’s occupational values is positive in general,however, there is a small number of college counselor’s occupational values whoseoccupational values target is not clear, orientation of occupational values is diversity,criterion of occupational values’ behavior inconsistent,lacking of occupational Values’identity and so on. Finally, according to the main problem of college counselor’soccupational values, proposed to guide the college counselor to build the properoccupational values that the countermeasures are to imply the occupational values ofeducation about counselor; perfect the system which in favor of the development of thecareer of college counselor; promote the formation of self-generating mechanism ofcollege counselor’s occupational values, so as to promote the professional construction ofcollege counselors’ team.
