When people think about the issues of education, they always unconsciously attribute the educational problems to the teachers, students and the teaching environment. They seldom doubt the problems existed in the textbooks. In the course of school education, the textbooks had always been considered to be sacred and inviolable authority. The knowledge provided by the textbooks is naturally been considered as the most scientific and valuable knowledge. However, due to the impact of ideology, the subjective causes of the textbook writers and textbooks'examination lack of power, the textbook will inevitably lead to various problems.This study is set history curriculum standards,history itself, and laws of development of educational psychology as a benchmark, analyse the text from the Grades 7&8 textbooks of "Chinese History" which were published by XXX Press. Starting from "the defect of the contents existed in the textbook" to "reason", and then to "effective recommendations" and outspread this clue. Analyse the text thoroughly, dialecticly and objectively by research a lot of informations, in order to find out the the defect of the contents existed in the history textbooks of middle school and then propose solutions, so as to truly solve the educational problems from the source. This full-text is divided into five parts. The first part describe the origin of the topic, start from the reason of why choose this topic to expatiate the significance study. Introduce the status of study at home and abroad, the way of study and the definition of core concepts etc. The second part briefly describe the situaiton of the new curriculum standards of XXX Press middle school history textbooks, mainly including the description of the version format, layout style, content organization, domain coverd by contents. The third part introduce what is content mistake at first, and then from selection of contents, organization of contents, present of contents these three aspects to discuss the existed mistakes by study the "Chinese History" textbooks for Grade 7&8 which published by XXX Press. The fourth part analyse the causes of each type of defects and classify the causes into four categories:the impact of ideology, the subjective causes of the textbook writers, the lack of historical facts material, textbooks'examination lack of power. The last part explore how to deal with these defects in textbooks.Whether the cultural contents which presented by the history textbooks are objectively and scientificly or not, it will directly affects the formation of student's cultural concept and the improvement of student's personality. Therefore, in order to promote quality education better, to train the historical thinking skills of students, to promote the comprehensive development of students and social progress, we should view and deal with a range of issues related to the history textbooks correctly.
