Nowadays, the ideological and political education of undergraduates is concerned by State and society, and it has been getting the focus of the whole society. The ideological and political quality is the key of improving the all-round quality of undergraduates; it is also the important component of the construction of the spiritual civilization in socialism. Consequently, consolidating the ideological and political education of undergraduates has got the intimate relationship with constructing harmonious society.The thesis stresses the effect of the ideological and political education of contemporary undergraduates. The effectiveness of the ideological and political education of undergraduates means educational effect. However, with the profound change of the international and internal condition, many problems in ideological and political education are exposing gradually. For example, the form is single, and traditional education method of the ideological and political education has not apply present situation, which affect the ideological and political education of undergraduates.Based on Marxist standpoint, this thesis assimilates the methodological nourishment from Habermas'theory of Communicative Action, and researches the effectiveness of the ideological and political education of contemporary undergraduates. The traditional moral is inculcate moral, it is a purpose of education in a planned and organized way to the ideological concepts of a certain social, political criteria and ethical standards into their ideological and moral educated individual social practice. Under the direction of the theory, education regards developing people's ability to possess the outside world as its aim, employed some so-called "highly efficient" methods, such as practicing, inculcating, to accelerate the process of turning people into instruments, and thus deviates from its historical mission-to be concerned with personal integrity. Try to apply Habermas'communication theory to the ideological and political education of undergraduates, it provides a new angle of view. And it returns practice of true communication and get away from traditional education method. Then set up the model of the ideological and political education of undergraduates with the core of communication rationality which is attempt and raising the validity of the ideological and political education of undergraduates.The main contents of this paper can be divided into four parts. The first part makes a sketch about communicative action theory. Through the analysis of the main idea of this communicative action theory, the paper outlines the main idea of this theory. The second part makes a research about the situation of the ideological and political education of undergraduates. Through the research of the present situation, the paper explores the reason which affects the validity of the ideological and political education of undergraduates. The third part is the point chapter of this thesis. Through the aspects of theory and practice, it shows the rationality by using communication theory to guide college students'ideological and political education.The last Part aims at the way and strategy of the implement of the model.
