| Chinese teaching material is composed since Chinese is the independent subject, which the selected text is the main part of the Chinese teaching material. Teaching texts is the core of the Chinese teaching. What kinds of the text can be selected depended on what is the selected texts'standard. There are different the selected texts'standard, different texts are select. The quality will be bad if the selected texts'standard is not scientific. Chinese Curriculum Standards demand that the Chinese texts must be high quality and great beauty, rich in culture, and themes are various and proper for the students. Especially, the standard of "high quality and great beauty" is one of the most important demands. So, we should analysize what "high quality and great beauty" is, how the text is be "high quality and great beauty" and so on. This paper states these questions, including four parts.The first part is the introduction, including the reason, literature review and research methods.The second part is the concept of "high quality and great beauty". Main discussions are what is "high quality and great beauty" of Chinese, how the text be "high quality and great beauty" and what is the characteristic in the primary school.The third part states the necessary of "high quality and great beauty" in the primary school based on reality and theory. The main part is the analysis on why "high quality and great beauty" was not demanded during 1963 to 2001.The fourth part is the methods to realize "high quality and great beauty" of Chinese in the primary school, including selecting more good articles, caring the needs of the students and correct attitudes towards the standard of "high quality and great beauty" and other standards.
