Independent colleges, as the new school systems that are supported by the excellent education resources from the state-own universities, effectively enlarge the superior higher education resources by utilizing the social funds, leaving no burdens to national finance. Meanwhile, they have satisfied the people's demands of higher education and provided multi-hierarchy talents for social development. Decade years of development has made independent colleges become one of the important parts of China's higher education. As the new spontaneous school systems coming from below, however, independent colleges are impacted by regional economic development and vary in schooling modes that appeal to different interests. In such a complicated competition of interests, therefore, the developing orientation for an independent college has remained the most crucial problem in the research of its schooling theory and practice.Centered on the research of developing orientation for an independent college, this thesis not only introduces three possible ways for its developing: keeping a sustainable and cooperative schooling, transforming itself into a completely independent private college and integrating itself into its mother university as a secondary faculty, but also gives a meticulous analysis to such issues as distribution of property rights and relationship among power, responsibility and interests for a schooling subject in keeping a sustainable and cooperative way, to any possibilities, driving and resisting power for transforming an independent college into a completely independent private college and to the practical causes for integration into its mother university. Finally, the thesis, from three angles, carries out a comprehensive explanation about the issues of system construction, operative norms of a school subject and construction of inner management that are essential to an independent college's development.
