The modern distance education project for rural elementary and secondary schools is a sustainable development project for benefiting the nation and people, and also is an important strategy for realizing the leaping development of rural education. As the education information in rural area is less developed, we should use national allocation of agricultural equipment and high-quality teaching resources to build a new educational environment for rural primary teachers and students, by inducing advanced educational concepts, methods stepping into the rural areas, narrowing the gap between urban and rural education and improving the level of information technology education in rural areas. The effect of techniques'application depends largely on information literacy and the actual operation ability mastered by the rural teachers, therefore, it is urgent to carry out teacher training program systematically and effectively for promoting basic educational information technology in rural areas.Meanwhile,it is also the effective way of giving full play to the functions of this project and achieving its sustainable development.Basing on the analysis of the rural teacher training, this study discusses the problems, as the limit of the scale, time, space, single forms, the poor interactive performance and so on, arising out of the traditional face-to-face training and proposes to build a blended training mode basing on Moodle platform, aiming at resolving these problems and finding out a convenient and effective teacher training program. This paper is divided into five parts:Part I, introduction. The research background, the theoretical significance, practical significance, research ideas, research methods.Part II, literature review and theoretical basis.Basing on the analysis of the literature, the study sorts out a brief overview of the current achivements in theory and describes the constructivism,blended-learning,activity theory and the main features of Moodle platform.Part III, investigation and analysis of modern distance education project for rural elementary and secondary school teacher-training.The author makes a spot investigation into rural schools by comprehensive utilization of a questionnaire survey method, case interviews, action research and other research methods.Through statistical analysis, the author grasped first-hand information about the current status of teacher training in rural areas, summarizing and sorting out common problems to tap out the underlying causes of problems.Part IV, the construction of blended training mode basing on the Moodle platform. On the basis of the early research, the design of this mode embraces from the training objectives, training targets, training content, training methods to training follow-up management in advanced blended-learning concept. With the building of training environment and network training platform, this hybrid training model basing on the powerful Moodle platform would be put into practice and accept inspection.Part V,the conclusion and reflection. Research limitations, innovative point and implication for future research. The research result shows that the blended training model basing on the Moodle platform can combine the traditional training with the web-based training to compensate for the shortcomings of the traditional training. The blended training model would greatly improve the the training performance and have great value in exploring for a better mode in the field of the modern distance education project for rural elementary and secondary school teacher training.
