According to the Ministry of Education of the unified plan, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region plans to carry out the new curriculum on all sides in the entire region from the fall of 2009 which is the time when new students enter high school. The education curriculum reform, which is a complete change to original teaching from educational philosophy to educational activities, is the largest one since the founding of the People's Republic of China in the education sector. The implementation of the new curriculum reform in remote regions is related to whether the new curriculum reform throughout the whole country is successful or not. It is a great difficulty and challenge for the new curriculum reform in remote regions, because the economy and culture there is limited. It is true that the new curriculum reform provides a great deal of room for the carry-out of curriculum in remote regions, but compared with the developed regions there is a huge gap in the development of economy, the cultural surroundings, the educational facilitates and the qualities of teachers between the remote and developed regions. Teachers are the specific perpetrators of curriculum reform. Teachers'understanding of the new curriculum, and their preparation of knowledge as well as the teaching methods for meeting new courses, will be directly related to the effect of the implementation of curriculum reform. Therefore, making a survey of the situation where high school chemistry teachers in remote areas meet the new curriculum is particularly important. In the paper, I take the chemistry teachers in Yake Shi high school for example, studying the preparations made by the chemistry teachers in the remote regions and the effects of the preparations on the specific carry-out of the new curriculum by mainly using survey, interview and observation. Through the survey I found that most of the high school chemistry teachers in remote areas responded positively to the call of Hulunbeir and learned actively from the successful experience of pilot area by surfing the internet. At the same time, I also found there were ill-prepared cases in the material, psychological, knowledge, evaluation methods, teaching methods and other aspects. By analyzing the reasons of the ill-prepared cases, teachers can fully understand the new requirements of the new curriculum of teachers; set clear goals of lifelong learning and self-improvement; explore actively curriculum reform; becoming a kind of teachers who like reflection and fully mobilize the creativity and initiative with which schools and teachers participate the new curriculum.
