Classical poetry , which is an important part of Senior -High- School–Chinese Teaching, as well as the cream of the ancient Chinese culture, have attracted generations of Chinese nation. So far, Chinese teaching is still stressing on the Classical Poetry. In this era, when spiritual crisis is more and more sensed, Classical Poetry teaching in senior school plays a significant role in cultivating the students' patriotism, national sense of pride, as well as in improving their Chinese literal level. Classical poetry can not only inherit Chinese tradition of "Poetry Teaching", laying foundation of new moral standard in the social development, but also can cultivate the students' affection and aesthetic conception, train their thinking ability and improve the whole quality. The new course criterion, which pays special stress on cultivating the students' exploring capability in teaching theory, embodies the advancement of the teaching in the process of adapting to the requirement of elites in the new era. In this aspect, it is worthy for Chinese teachers to research how to cultivate the students' ability of exploring in the field of Classical Poetry teaching and how to lead them to appreciate classical poetry in their study.The author of the present paper constructs a harmonious integration between the Classical Poetry teaching and cultivation of students' exploring ability on the basis of a great number of teaching experiences, during which absorbing and drawing on the experiences and success of those who have made in Classical Poetry teaching and exploring.The author of the present paper analyses the current status quo of senior high school Chinese Classical Poetry and points out the main problem. Chinese teachers pay more stress on rational analysis, ignoring exploring the students' affection; they stress much on efficacy, ignoring exploring aesthetic ability; Chinese teachers' teaching concept is outmoded and they hesitate to go beyond the limit, decreasing the teaching effect. In this case, Chinese teachers will have to go with the time, reform without hesitation. On the basis of the current situation, the author of the present paper proposes the significance of Classical Poetry for Chinese teachers to cultivate students' exploring ability.Secondly, the author of the present paper demonstrates the basic connotation of the exploring teaching, the feasibility of the academic study. Exploring teaching is the one in which students can turn passive action into active action. The new course of Senior High School Chinese teaching stress on cultivating students' capability and laying foundation for future's study, supplying excellent conditions for their lifelong study. Senior high students are likely to be independent in thinking, they begin to show their interest in musical beauty and emotional classical poetry. With the Chinese teachers' correct leading, students' desire of exploring can be stimulated.Thirdly, the author of the present paper expounds the conditions and contents of Classical Poetry in cultivation of students' exploring ability which can be produced on a certain foundation and condition. The author of the present paper demonstrates the above-mentioned problems from four aspects: reciting, cognition, atmosphere, co-study, and interest of inspiring. The content of the present paper is "what to explore". Therefore the author demonstrates her concept about the image, language and writing method on the base of the guiding principle of university entrance examination and new courses.Finally, the author of the present paper advances a detailed strategy: Guided by the strategy which adheres to the cognition law, Chinese teachers should lead their students to study by means of following the principle of "from the easy to the hard" or "from the surface to the center". Multi-level exploring system constructed on the basis of the theory of connection and development is conducive to developing students' exploring; Erecting for the students' the theory of "study for the purpose of application" is conducive to encouraging students to connect the theory attained in the classroom with the practice done outdoor, bringing the initiative of the students into full play.
