Chinese classical poetry is the essence of Chinese traditional culture and Chinese classical poetry teaching in senior high school is an important part of Chinese teaching. The works of Chinese classical poetry takes an important part in the new senior Chinese textbooks. These poems are classics with great human value, aesthetic value and emotional value and the excellent teaching materials for humanist education and aesthetic education and emotional education. Chinese, an important part of human culture, is the most important communication tool. The unity of tools and humanity is the Chinese basic feature and Chinese classical poetry teaching in senior high school should be characterized by the unity.This paper makes an analysis on how to improve Chinese classical poetry teaching efficiency in senior high school based on research background, significance, analysis of teaching shortcomings and reasons, strategies of improving teaching efficiency in class New requirements have been raised in National Education Reform and Development of Long-Term Planning Programs that the basic requirement of teaching should be to educate the students, the drive of education development should be to reform and innovate and core task of education reform should be to improve the teaching quality. The main feature of this paper lies in its full attention to reform background of new curriculum and its study on the teaching efficiency of Chinese classical poetry. In accordance with its study, it is hoped that in order to improve the teaching efficiency of Chinese classical poetry, some positive teaching strategies can be put forward and some ways of improvements of Chinese classical poetry teaching in senior high school can be achieved.
