| The geography teaching of the senior high school is a high-level geography education based on junior high school education. Geography teaching in senior high school is not connected with that in junior high school, which is becoming more and more serious and has a strong impact on the result and quality of geography teaching of senior high school. The teachers in senior high school are unfamiliar with junior teaching situation, and there is no theory and models to imitate to make the studies of junior high school graduates get along well in senior high school. Reforms under the background in new Geography curriculum which unfolds comprehensively, the senior high school geography teaching and the junior high school geography connection question receives a teaching value day by day.Based on the investigation to the studends from three different types of senior high school in Shanghai, this paper finds the theoretical and data support of teaching connection.It adopts the main reserach technique includes:the literature methodology, the questionnaire survey procedure, the comparison analytic method, the experience method and so on. By putting the teaching theories into practice, exploration and attempts have been done in researching the connection between junior and senior high geography teaching.This paper includes four chapters. The first chapter introduces the background of the study, the theoretical basis and the study methods. Chapter two is to investigate the present situation of geography learning in senior one. Chapter three is adopted to find out the causes of the teaching connection problems through comparison of course offered, content of courses, teaching objectives and the students'cognitive ability in junior and senior high geography teaching. In the last chapter, the author proposes corresponding countermeasures to solve the teaching connection problems from teaching material, teaching method, learning method,evaluation method, etc.
